Promotion of Régis Arnoux to the rank of Officer of The Legion of Honour.

Regis Arnoux was promoted to rank of Officer of The National Order of the Legion of Honour by the Ministry of Foreign Trade by decree of the President of the Republic on 12 July 2013. He was named a Knight in 2003.

A promotion in the Legion of Honor rewards new merits and not merits already rewarded. These promotions follow a regulated timeframe: it takes 8 years minimum for a knight to become an officer.

The Legion of Honor is the highest French decoration. It recognizes, in a large national scale, the merits acquired by citizens, without any social or hereditary consideration and that, in all sectors of activity of the country.

Founded by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, The National Order of the Legion of Honour distinguishes French, but also non-French citizens. If you often talk about celebrities, they are in fact a minority among those honored. Nearly 25% are decorated from the business world, 20% of the public, 17% of education and research, 14% of the health, social and humanitarian areas. Others are split between politics, culture, war veterans, sports and cults.
