CIS is awarded a new contract in Russia with Total
Building on its exceptional 22 year track record of uninterrupted presence in this country, CIS was awarded a new contract in Russia with TOTAL, the world’s fourth-largest oil and gas company.
The Kharyaga oil exploration project is located in the Nenets Okrug, in the tundra at 60 km north of the Arctic Circle, with Usinsk as the nearest city, located at 180 km in the Republic of Komi. The weather conditions there are extreme with temperatures up to
-50°C in winter and very strong winds. The three-hour drive required to reach the Usinsk site also adds an additional complexity to the operation.
For a three-year term that started in May 2015, CIS is thus providing catering and living accommodation services for 300 people on two sites, the Usinsk offices and the oilfield.
This new contract will significantly strengthen the Group's position in this region with great potential for development in the mining and oil petroleum areas.
